Retro Assault Soundtrack Completed!!!
||Finally!! It’s done. I knuckled down and got the 13 themes finished and I really liked how they turned out. I need to look into a full orchestral sound library. I really enjoyed composing all the string sections and building the orchestrated parts, but the strings are really the only thing I have in the Xpand 2 module and really work for that sort of thing. All the Brass and woodwind stuff is so weak, I couldn’t work any of it in with the type of BIG sounds I was looking for.
In the future, I would like to get ahold of LA Strings or Symphobia before our next project, but for this I was able to make due. The themes are cool, so depending on how much time I have after we wrap the iOS version up, maybe I’ll expand the themes a little and actually release the full score. At present I just formatted to the game loops so I could move on to finishing the rest of the game.
Things are moving forward. Microsoft ordered the XBOX ONE dev kits for us so we should have them in a couple of weeks. I’m really excited to be developing on consoles again, and seeing Retro ported over on it.
The kids are growing up way to fast. We had our conference call last night, walked into the bedroom and Korben and Maya were sitting on the bed watching TV. They both got excited and yelled “Dad!!!” They are the cutest kiddos, and no longer babies. Maya is finally a full blown toddler now, and Korben is so big he’s the size of a 5 year old! Crazy!
