As much fun as it is to work your ass off on your own stuff while on vacation, eventually its time to put your big boy shoes on and get back to the grind.
I think its time to start putting the feelers out for a new gig. I’m not sure what’s in the area, but hopefully I can find something local and not have to uproot Shannie and the Kiddos. They love their Grandma Sheila, as does everyone else and I cant see moving away from her either. That would be sad.
So we’ll start local and go from there. I’m kind of looking forward to seeing what comes. Hopefully something challenging and fun and maybe a little different. The change of pace will be good though. Don’t get me wrong, I really like working on my own stuff, but if the projects is just spinning its wheels a good portion of the time, and I have little power in getting it to move forward in a reasonable timeline, I start splitting interests. I’d rather find a new gig with a stable paycheck and work on something new at this point and get the home front back to a normal routine.
On a different note, Maya is getting bigger now, and talking like crazy. Some gibberish and some completely audible words. I love it when she runs up to dad putting her arms up to be held, or bouncing her way over to me in bed with that awesome grin she has. That smile lights up the room wherever she goes. She’s into mimicking things we’re doing, and wanting to join in on the action now.
Korben has been going through some crazy growth spurts as well; language, and comprehension. He’s a very stubborn boy (wonder where he gets that from?? heh) but he’s also so kind hearted as well. Lately he’s been getting really independent. I let him hang out in our bed by himself upstairs while I worked in my studio and he had a great time just playing with toys and jumping around in his own little world. I could hear him carrying on next door. heh. He has a lot of imagination, he just looses himself in it. It’s fun to watch him evolve, and discover.
On the RA front, been a little unmotivated this last week, focusing on my website, and resume. I’m starting to chew into the soundtrack now. I think I might get some real sleep tonight and hit it tomorrow with a fresh set of ears. I’m still not entirely sure where I want to do in terms of the scope of it. It might be fun expanding it into a full soundtrack kind of thing. I guess I cross that bridge when I get there.
Tonight will be more C++ studies. I completed “For” and “While” Loops…and into strings and user input now. I’ve been getting a handle on the syntax. I ran into an error yesterday, and was able to fix it just by looking at the code without going back to reference materials, so that was kind of a cool moment for me. I’m getting comfortable with it. It’s been a lot of fun.
