Private Pictures – Test DVDs

I burnt SD test copies of Private Pictures and had them up and running on the Bravia HD tv last night. It looks pretty nice. I definitely need to get a output hardware solution. Not being able to see it on a tv monitor during post kind of sucks. Even though it’s formatted in SD, its pretty sharp on the Bravia.

I still need to play around with the DVD burn settings. The Blu Ray player handles the disk just fine but the Panasonic player I have in the studio is choking on it a little.

I also found those fans on the soft-boxes comes through a lot louder on tv speakers. grrrr…so Ill be getting a couple 1000w Arri’s to replace them very soon.

It’s a solid jump past Obituary Notice in terms of quality and for a simple script that was penned in a few hours, I think it come out pretty cool. After watching it last night I added a little segment piece called “The near death of Cornbread” and added in the two takes I have of the Gail/Drunken Train-wreck that are kind of funny to watch. Should be a laugh at the screening party.

I got this image via Facebook from Javier of our booth presence at E3 this year. Sounds like he’s having a great time. :-)

  1. E3 is soo Awesome!! I’m having a great time! I’m trying to represent myself as a film/video game composer, as well as talk about previous projects, i.e. Obituary, Plan B, Private pictures. hehe. Lots of business cards are floating around! If nothing happens of it, its a great experience rubbing shoulders with big wigs.

Michael if you can hold up on finishing completely with private pictures I want to polish up the dialogue scene as soon as I get back.

  2. I’m glad you’re having a good time. I’m glad its back to it’s regular over the top vibe. It sucked bad when they took all the spectical out of it a couple years ago.

I can hold off on burning the DVDs till maybe end of the day on Tuesday. If you can make alterations by then, I’m cool with that. I just want to have everything ready to go early next week at the latest so I dont have to worry about it.
